Donating my hair / Goodbye Auntie Kir, this is for you

Story

Hello friends and family!

I've created this page because I want to make a difference to the one in eight women who will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. This 1 in 8 women include my Auntie Kir. She was diagnosed with breast cancer around 5 years ago. After multiple surgeries and an intense amount of chemo and radiotherapy the cancer thankfully was gone...and so was her hair.

She used to have gorgeous long, dark purple hair and had for years. I remember understanding how hard it was for her to lose her hair. Even when I didn't fully understand what cancer was. We all celebrated when she went into remission and she remained there for around a year. Until we got the news that the cancer had come back, worse than before. That was in 2016 and she is still fighting against the terminal illness now. She is the strongest person I know and continues to live her life to the fullest even when she is in pain.

I never want anyone to go through what she has. I have decided to cut off and donate 8 inches of my hair to 'Pantene's Beautiful Lengths' program which provides wigs for women with cancer. Alongside this donation I am hoping to raise some money and give it to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. I want to make a difference to the people around me.

I'm inspired by the work that National Breast Cancer Foundation do and want to help them reach their inspirational goal of zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030.

Please help me help NBCF by giving whatever you can using the 'Give Now' button.

The more people that know about National Breast Cancer Foundation, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family.

Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!

EDIT - 8/11/18

My Auntie has unfortunately passed away. Thank you to everyone that has donated so far I am so incredibly proud to be surround with supportive people like you. Fly high Auntie Kir I am glad that you aren't in pain anymore. I know when the day comes I will be able to find you looking at the sky with a camera in one hand and an ice cream in the other. I miss you. I love you.
